This product is currently out of stock
Description:

Created by Evenflo, the Titan Deluxe car seat simplifies life for busy parents--not to mention cutting down on expenses. That’s because the seat is designed for rear-facing or forward-facing installation, so a child can ride in it safely and comfortably from 5 to 40 pounds. With this usage in mind, the car seat boasts highly adjustable features, including a five-point harness with four shoulder levels and two buckle positions. The entire seat reclines to one of two angles, and the whole harness can be easily adjusted with a front-access strap. With ergonomic shaping, memory foam padding, and ample room for a growing child’s head and shoulders, the seat is sure to be comfy. It is also convenient--a lifting flap makes tracking seatbelts simple, and the bronze seat cover removes for machine-washing. Other features include snap-on drink and snack trays, a toddler pillow, and a body pillow. The seat installs with a seatbelt or the LATCH system and includes a stabilization tether for forward-facing use. --Emily Bedard

5My son loves his carseat, and so do IJun 11, 2007
I don't know why people are having a hard time with the straps...it's very simple to me to get them straight, even, and tight. My 1 year old is very comfy in his seat, and I feel that it is very safe. We had to place towels underneath to get it to recline in the rear facing position, but my car seat inspector said it was fine and did NOT interfere with the safety of the seat.

5Self-ExplanatoryJul 09, 2006
We got this car seat for our 6 month old daughter. We tried it in the store and she really liked sitting in it (she cried when we put her in the Triumph). The seat installs with ease if you follow the instructions, which are really self-explanatory. As for all the parents who are complaining: 1) when loosening the straps have the chest clamp closed, thus you will pull on both straps at once keeping them even; 2) when pulling on the tightening strap on the bottom of the seat, pull straight out, not up (there is not much room when the seat is installed, but it's more than enough to get the straps tight for even a small baby).

1TERRIBLE car seat! VERY disappointed in this seat.Jun 28, 2006
I am very surprised that Consumer Reports ranked this car seat as a best buy. I guess it was b/c of the price and also b/c they only rated ease of installation. It was SOOO hard to strap my baby in- I now understand what the other reviewers complained about when they said it's hard to balance the straps. It was hard to visualize reading it and I learned the hard way. The arm/thigh strap from one side are connected to the other side- it is a continuous strap. When you are trying to tighten the straps, it is nearly impossible to get it tightened equally (on the left and right side). One side would be too loose and one side would be too tight. I was so frustrated after a few days and dreaded each day when my baby had a new outfit, having to readjust it. Even after it was adjusted to the outfit, it was still VERY hard to make sure the straps were the same length on each side. The Evenflo chest clip is every hard to clasp also. One last complaint is that there was not much head support (at least in the rear-facing. I can't speak for forward facing). I'm not sure if it's the head support or angle of recline. Either way, when my baby fell asleep, her head just flopped down and when she woke up, she had the imprint of the clasp on her cheek! I returned it and bought the Britax Roundabout and love it! It is pricier but it is worth it!

5Will fit (snugly) in a car with two other kids!Jun 02, 2006
If you are like me and totally frustrated at how wide carseats are getting, then this one is for you! I drive a Subaru Outback wagon and have three children, so when we needed to get a new convertible carseat for the baby, I had to take into account not only price, but also what would fit in the car in between our other two seats. We had our five-year-old in a Graco TurboBooster and the three-year-old in an Evenflo Comet forward-facing/high-back booster seat. The Titan is by far the narrowest convertible carseat I could find, and I still had to trash the Evenflo booster and buy another Graco TurboBooster for my three-year-old just to fit all three kids in the car. Thank goodness Babies R Us will let you try out the floor models in your car before you buy anything! The only other seat that came remotely close to fitting was the Graco Comfort Sport, and even that was too wide.

I've been using the Titan for two weeks now, and haven't really had any difficulty getting the straps adjusted correctly. I did notice, like another reviewer, that the shoulder straps are one continuous loop underneath the seat, which could account for the problems other reviewers have had, but any time it seems like one side is going to be tighter than the other, I just give that side a bit of a tug to pull in the slack on the other, and then there's no problem. My daughter seems to be happy in the seat. I did notice that it buckles farther down on her thighs than I remember our other seats doing, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. I do have to stuff a rolled-up towel underneath it in order to get it to recline enough, but every carseat I looked at suggested doing that if necessary (we had to do it on our old convertible, too), and with the towel there, her head doesn't flop forward when she sleeps. We took a two-hour drive the day after we bought the seat, and she slept just fine and was perfectly happy when she was awake.

This seat is (relatively) inexpensive, narrow enough for our family's needs, and seems very comfortable.

4My son loves his seatMay 25, 2006
My son is 6 months old (and weighs 20 lbs!). We needed a convertible car seat. After weeks of researching reviews and consumer reports, we decided to go with the Graco Titan. I am very happy so far! It fits into my Toyota Highlander well, and I have been able to loosen the straps pretty easily. I did practice with the seat prior to installing it in my car. I did loosen the leg straps a bit just b/c of short season. I didn't want the straps to rub his leg too much. Overall, we have been very pleased.
