Fine Motor Skills The Symphony Light & Motion Mobile contributes to the development of baby's eye muscles. Small babies find it difficult to follow objects with their eyes because of their limited vision and weak eye muscles. Consequently, slow-moving objects encourage babies to follow with their eyes thereby contributing to the strengthening of the eye muscles. Cognition Spatial perception: The visual stimuli are designed in layers-animals alongside balls with colorful cones above, and finally the colorful liquid shapes wheel. As baby's vision develops, she begins to discover the top and bottom layers as well as those to the sides. This develops her spatial perception and her ability to organize and perceive objects in space. Cause and effect: The music box has four buttons and can be used as a musical activity center, encouraging your baby to push buttons (cause) in order to receive different musical responses (effect). Object Permanence From her fifth month, your baby will become aware of objects disappearing and reappearing within his field of vision. I love this mobile and baby does too!! When turned on, the music will change between mozart, bach and classical music with nature noises. The settings are off, music with motion, music with lights and motion and just motion. The mobile lasts for 20 minutes and maintains my little one for a full 20 minutes!! Baby was 2 months old when first purchased and 4 weeks later this is baby's favorite thing!! The light is low, but is pleasant. There is an adjustment for the music noise too. The only thing I would like to see different are more than one song per the mozart, bach and nature selections. Can get a little repetitive, but overall relaxing. Excellent Mobile!!!

- and so does her 2yr old big sister! It plays for a nice amount of time, the music is pleasant and I like the colors/animals on the mobile.

We read the reviews of the various Symphony mobiles by Tiny Love. This one seems to have corrected most of the flaws identified in the non-light version. I won't repeat the positive points - our daughter loves this mobile. It will give you 20 minutes of freedom to take a shower or whatever.
There may be two revisions of this one already. One of the reviews stated that the volume has to be reset each time. Ours remembers the last setting, even if that is mute. We bought our mobile in June 2008.
Negatives: The musical selections are short and the light isn't very bright. Also, you really had to push the stem into the base quite hard to get everything to work.

I bought this mobile when my son was about 2 months. He is 7 months now and remains his favorite toy! He just loves it, captures his attention completely for as long as it is going on. It automatically stops after 15 minutes and my baby stays still waiting for it to restart. Now he is even trying to start it himself. Nothing absorbs him as much or as long as this mobile. I highly recommend it.

I ordered this mobile but it did not work. I called the company and they sent me a new part. Still nothing. Called again. New part. Nothing. Customer service is great. Product stinks.
