Absolutely Love It!!!Jan 04, 2009 I purchased a 2007 model brand new in late 2008 to save money. The 2007 model and 2008 models are identical with exception of color choices so I am reviewing the 2008 model. We purchased the Toffee (we wanted Moka, but saved over $100 by getting the previous model year in a similar color through[..].
This stroller is FABULOUS!!! We have used it with my newborn for a month now and love it! We have not tested the harness on anything but a stuffed animal because we haven't used it without the Viaggio car seat (which we also love), but so far this stroller has been amazing.
It is very light which is one of the main reasons we purchased it. I am a short (5' 1"), not very strong woman and I can easily fold/unfold it and move it in and out of the back of my SUV. The thing corners like a dream and is so easy to move through the store aisles. The shocks are amazing! We have rolled it over many rough surfaces with the baby asleep and he barely jiggled and has never woken. My husband is 5' 10" and we are both comfortable pushing the stroller around thanks to the height adjustable handles.
It does take some practice to use at first. Opening and closing it can be confusing at first, but once you do it successfully a few times it becomes second nature. I have only put the car seat on the stroller twice and am still finding it a little difficult, but my husband (who usually attaches the car seat to the stroller) can do it effortlessly now.
My only complaints about this stroller are that the seat doesn't rotate so the baby can face you (and I didn't think it worth the $500 it costs to get this feature in the Pliko Switch) and the basket is pretty worthless. It's difficult to get things in and out of the basket, it doesn't hold very much, and what it does hold is limited to what you can squeeze into the teeny, tiny access area on the sides of the basket between the top of the mesh and the bottom of the stroller frame.
I found this stroller to be worth every penny and would recommend it to anyone.
Just OkayDec 17, 2008 I'm not a huge fan of this stroller. I had a Graco Metrolite and a Bob Ironman jogging stroller for my 3 year old son. I loved both. I purchased this stroller primarily because it claimed to have a toddler stand and ride feature. That is completely useless - the seat needs to be completely upright and the canopy off and even then, it is very difficult for my 3 year old to hold on. As for the other features, I don't feel the same quality that other reviewers speak of. The cup holder broke right away, the seat recline mechanism doesn't work well, and the breaks seem flimsy. Pros: It is easy to fold, attractive, and the snack tray is great. I'm not completely displeased with the purchase, I just don't think it's worth the extra $$.
Great.Nov 04, 2008 I bought this stroller after reading all the reviews on different sites, and after alot of research I am very happy with it.
We also purchased the peg perego primo viaggio infant car seat and I love it.
Not a review, but a questionAug 11, 2008 We are thinking of buying this stroller and it looks great, the reviews were helpful too.
The only thing I would like to know - does it lie flat for a newborn? In the beginning I don't intend to use a car (thus, no car seat), but to walk with the stroller and if it doesn't lie pretty flat (180 degrees), I don't know if I'd be able to use it for a first month or so.
Any insights?
Thank you,
Sasha.
Lightweight, good looking, easy to fold, small when foldedJul 05, 2008 This product is really good. Another reviewer complained that there is a lot of plastic. This is true, but in my opinion this does not make it look like a cheap product. I think it helps to keep it lightweight.
The folding/unfolding is very easy. Try looking on youtube or peg-perego's website for some videos and you can see how easy it is. There are even videos that help you to assemble it (since the manual can be vague in some points). But it's pretty obvious and easy to assemble too.
I can't tell if it is comfortable to ride, because I'm too big for it, and my daughter hasn't been born yet. But it looks comfortable.
Me and my wife really wanted the cream one (paloma), but we were afraid that it would stain easily. However, I had a nice surprise opening the box, since it turned out that the midnight blue is actually very nice too.
And of course, the main feature that lead us to buy this one is the small size when folded. Of course, it is not as small as a regular umbrella stroller, but is definitely much smaller than most strollers (meaning, you don't need to buy an SUV or an extra trunk).
