5really light!Oct 24, 2008
this is an especially convenient stroller for travelling by plane as it fits in overheads and is so light. the sling makes it easy to carry on the shoulder and is easy to set up and fold down.

5If you're looking for a good umbrella stroller look no further!Sep 05, 2007
I absolutely love this stroller. I have a Chicco umbrella stroller and I can't figure how to collapse it. I had a bigger Graco stroller that I used with the car seat and it worked fine but now that my son is almost two I wanted something lighter and not so bulky. This stroller is fabulous. It collapses incredibly easy and weighs as much as a feather. You pay more for this than many others but it's money well spent.

4I like it but...Aug 02, 2007
Cute stroller, easy to fold, unfold, carry. First problem I ran into the moment I took it out of the box was the clips...they were nearly IMPOSSIBLE to unclip. We almost had to grind down the sides to get it to work properly. My husband ended up taking pliers and pushing the clips closer together, but it is still difficult to use; I'm still waiting for the day I have to cut my daughter out of her seat! Second problem...well, not a huge problem yet as my daughter is not trying to get out of the seat, but at 7 months (and a LONG torso) the shoulder straps are way to loose, I'm real nervous about her falling out. She enjoys chewing on them now, thank goodness no teeth or I'd be in for it!
Another thing is that the dirt from the wheels gets all over the canopy. The only way to avoid the canopy looking nasty is to a)use a towel or other item when folding to keep wheels from touching or b) don't use the canopy.
My biggest gripe is the clips as they are way too hard to use (no, I'm not a wimp they really are almost impossible! Then again, for a "Made in China" product, should I expect more?
Would buy again, but all fingers and toes would be crossed that the clips are user friendly

2looks nice, BUT buckles are HORRIBLEJul 30, 2007
I bought this stroller because I was looking for a second light easy stroller. I have the Graco Quattro Tour which has been great and our car seat clicks in it. But now our baby is 9 1/2 months old and we don't leave him in his car seat very much once we arrive places, and the stroller is very heavy and bulky for quick run ins. SO I loved the look of this stroller. And I thought even thought it didn't recline which was very important to me I liked the way it looked so much that I didn't care.
WELL when we got home and my husband and I were trying to use it we realized that the buckle straps were on the wrong sides and flipped inside out. SO you can't adjust the tightness once you child is in it, and everytime you try to buckel it it won't work because you realize its upsidown so you have to flip it. SECOND once you have them buckled in, It is very hard to squeeze the buckles undone.
SO I took it back and got the CHICCO CAPRI which is 59.00. I LOVE IT. The buckles are easy AND it reclines a little. Enough for short naps. and it comes with a carrying case. It is the same weight.
I know Maclaren is trendy, and I asked them at the store and they said all the straps are like that, but no one cares because its so trendy. Well, that it rediculous.

4Great 2nd stroller but expensive with added accessoriesJul 20, 2007
This is great "second stroller" for quick errands, public transportation, or when you have very little room in your car. I would not use it as my main stroller because it doesn't recline.

- Weighs 9.2 lbs with all accessories (it's marketed as the lightest stroller in the world).

- Very compact folded up (41" x 10" x 10").

- Has a carry strap, so it's easy to just throw over your shoulder if you need to carry your baby & diaper bag or if your toddler wants to walk. You can literally pick it up with one finger and barely feel the weight when carrying it.

- For "minimalist" travel, you can put a Roundabout or Marathon in it, tie it with a bungee cord (without the child inside) and push it one-handed while carrying your child, with a backpack. Good option if traveling alone.

- Easy to clean plastic mesh seat.

- The canopy is larger than the Maclaren Triumph's, but you may still need a sun canopy.

- 55 lb capacity

- No cupholder and a tiny basket(4.4 lb capacity) but it works well with a $[...] Maclaren organizer. The price creeps up with this, of course.

- Quick one-hand hold while holding your baby.

- To make it more comfortable for your child, you can get a light grey liner, rain shield and travel bag in a separate Maclaren Volo accessory pack for $[...] (once added on though, you hit $[...] - with the organizer, $[...]; take a look at the $[...] Inglesina Trip - almost the same price with every feature you could possibly want).

Cons:

- Hefty price for a simple-looking stroller, but worth it if your main concerns are weight, weight, weight, quality and durability.

- More suitable for babies a year and older because the harness is a little large and there's really not a lot of support. It's very much like a hammock.

- The light 2007 colors may show dirt easily. An all black version (2007 Carbon)is available at BRU for less, without a rain shield (this comes with the accessory pack anyway)

- It doesn't recline. You can add a pair of 'cradlers' to help support your baby's head once he falls asleep. My baby doesn't seem to mind but it doesn't look really comfortable. Do not fold up the stroller with these..

- No peek-a-boo window to check on baby

- The wheels are very small and designed for smooth surfaces. It gives a bumpy ride elsewhere and doesn't handle cobblestone, gravel, or sand well at all. But that's when you just carry your child with the Volo over your shoulder.

If you are looking for a stroller that reclines that you can use everyday and still travel with, I highly recommend the Inglesina Trip (15 lbs with all accessories) or the Maclaren Quest (13.5 lbs with all accessories). Both have 4-position reclines, adjustable footrests, rain shields, storage baskets, washable liners, reflective accents, carry handles and easy one hand two-step fold. Neither one has a snack tray or bar (for that you need to get a full-size stroller).

The Inglesina Trip has the advantage of having waterproof canopy with visor, see through window on top, tall handles, 6.5" inch wheels and all-wheel suspension to better handle bumpy terrain. It is 2" longer and 1" wider than the Volo when folded up due to it's larger wheels and padded seat. Its weight capacity is 45 lbs.

The Quest is lighter in weight but has no suspension, a window in back, and its smaller canopy is only water resistant. Its weight capacity is 55 lbs, like the Volo.

I don't recommend the Combi as it's not as sturdy, is harder to fold with a two-handed three-step process, and the backrest is not attached to anything, so the child can just lean forward in his harness, backrest and all.

Lastly, beware of weight listed as it refers to "bare weight" without any accessories. A lot of sites forget to add these on - and of course you'll rarely go out without them!

In all, the Volo a great 2nd stroller for the price, as is, but if you want more features you can find them in other strollers for the same price.
