Stroller JunkieNov 07, 2006 I am going to go out on a limb here and be the first person brave enough to say I am 100% happy with this stroller. I know how popular it is and I fell into the "gotta have a Maclaren stroller" category. Now I don't completely hate the stroller, it happens to be a very good stroller, but I do believe there are better ones out there. I'll start with the positive ... The Maclaren's are made well, have handle adjustments (which is great if you are tall), great seatbelts, steers exceptionally easy, and doesn't weigh a lot. Ok, now for the negative ... One of the main things I hate about the Maclaren strollers is they tip VERY easily. If you have one SLIGHTLY heavy diaper bag (or any other bag hanging from the bag) the minute your kid gets out of the stroller, BAM! It goes over! I've been told I can put wrist weights around the front legs of the stroller to prevent this from happening, but that defeats the purpose of a light weight stroller! Second, the way it folds is a royal pain. You have to bend over to collapse it and then lift it off the floor. It does NOT stand on it's own. Where ever you put it, it has to be lying down (which is fine in the car, but on the floor of a restaurant is just gross)! Thirdly, the storage bag underneath the stroller barely holds a sippy cup!!! Fourthly, there is no cup holder or tray for the little ones. Now I am not a fan of eating on the run, but sometimes you are in a bind and need to give them a little snack. It's a royal pain to keep bending over to hand your child raisins! It would be nice to be able to give them a snack on a tray and have a place to put their sippy cup when they are done with it ... besides the floor!!!!
I have also owned the Peg Perego Pliko P3 ... Great Stroller! The only negative thing I can say about that is that is also has a small storage compartment underneath. But other than that, it's a great stroller. It weighs the same as the Maclaren. But won't tip when left unattended, It fold easily too and stands upright when folded (you can lay it down too). It also has a tray with a cup holder. It also is very easy to steer.
